EQUIPMENT FAQ'S

What is the infrared sauna for?

An infrared sauna uses gentle infrared heat to warm your body directly, rather than just heating the air around you. It’s designed to promote relaxation, improve circulation, ease muscle tension, and support recovery after exercise. Many people also find it helps reduce stress and provides an overall sense of well-being.

Is cold and hot therapy a good thing?

Yes, alternating between cold and hot therapy can be very beneficial. The heat helps relax muscles, improve circulation, and ease stiffness, while the cold reduces inflammation, soothes sore muscles, and aids recovery. Together, they can support faster healing, boost energy, and leave you feeling refreshed.

Can compression boots be used with varicose veins?

Compression boots can improve circulation, but if you have varicose veins or other vascular conditions, it’s best to check with your doctor first. They can guide you on the safest options for your recovery.

What is recommended for sore hamstrings?

For sore hamstrings in our recovery suite, cold therapy can reduce inflammation, the sauna or jacuzzi can relax the muscles, and compression boots or massage guns can support recovery. Gentle stretching afterward can also help maintain flexibility.

What helps sore knees?

In our recovery suite, cold therapy (like the ice bath) can reduce inflammation, while the sauna or jacuzzi may ease stiffness and improve circulation. Compression boots and massage guns can also support muscle recovery around the knee. If soreness persists or is severe, we recommend seeking medical advice.

What way does the ice bath work?

The ice bath uses cold water immersion to lower body temperature, which helps reduce inflammation, decrease muscle soreness, and support faster recovery after exercise. The cold also stimulates circulation — when you get out, fresh oxygenated blood flows back into the muscles, leaving you feeling refreshed and energized.

What are the side effects of the ice bath?

Ice baths are generally safe for most people, but some may experience temporary side effects such as shivering, numbness, or tingling in the muscles. Rarely, prolonged exposure can cause dizziness or lightheadedness. Always start with short sessions, listen to your body, and consult a doctor if you have heart conditions, circulation issues, or other health concerns.
